February Review

  • Saturday Feb 4th: Regional HB/HA Study Session

A great session from Merritt & Associates and Brian Lamb, Equine Nutritionist. Sincerely hoping that Lucy is demonstrating a portion of the digestive system …and not planning to USE that set up ?

  • Sunday February 5th, 3-5pm: General Meeting: Warrenville Fire Station: Quiz Practice!

A good turnout and practice for quiz …. see later! Good job Cs in preparing questions and quizzing Ds !

  • February 18th Schooling Show Resurrection Ranch

18 Riders turned out for our first schooling show of 2017. Many of our C riders came – seen here – so important for the Ds to see how you ride and give them something to aim for!! Much fun was had – thanks to Mary and Mellissa for hosting, Sarah C for her excellent course instruction, Jane and Abby for dressage judging. Mary is keeping a points tally for a “grand award” at the end of the year: looking forward to it already.

  • February 25-26 Regional Quiz in Peoria

Fun times were had by all at the Regional Quiz in Peoria ..and our results were GREAT!! Well done to all!!

Dates are out for National Pony Club Championships and FESTIVAL at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2017.

This is a don’t miss opportunity to participate in competitions, lessons, clinics, HM tuition, etc. etc. all in one place. This only occurs once every three years – and it’s a GREAT experience!! Pencil it in – even if you don’t intend to ride, it’s a GREAT chance to participate in unmounted instruction from some of the top clinicians in the country. We hope to have a HUGE group down in Kentucky for a great time.

Block your calendars for the Regional Qualifiers June 14 – 18th at FVSA and for JULY 17TH – 24th for Champs / Festival

If you plan to compete at Champs, you need to be approved by your DC – AND complete a Championship Intent by April 15th!!

** Please READ THE RULEBOOKS for the discipline you hope to compete in …there are some big changes in 2017**

Sarah Coltrins Brother is in the JUMP business: get your orders in fast – these are super inexpensive and well built.

Success in Pony Club is not about being better than somebody else...it’s about improving yourself and encouraging others!
